Don Bradman Bio:
Donald George Bradman aka Don Bradman (27 August 1908 - 25 February 2001) was an Australian cricketer considered one of the greatest players in the history of cricket. [5] He was one of the most famous players in Australian history. ۔
Thus, in batting average, they do not seem to have a far-flung opponent. If he had managed to score 4 runs in the last Test of the tour of England to Australia in 1948, his average would have been 100 runs today, but unfortunately, he was out at zero and thus his average is 99.94%.
Don Bradman Cricket career:
He scored 6996 runs in 52 Tests at an average of 99.94. Your best individual performance was 334 runs. You made more than 100 runs 29 times. That includes more than 300 races twice.
For a long time, he was the only athlete to score more than 300 runs twice. Both times he showed this great performance against England at Headingley. He made 334 runs for the first time in 1930 and 304 for the second time in 1934.
Your feat was equalled by West Indies batsman Brian Lara in 2004, but he doubled down on Bradman to do so. Bradman once came very close to scoring 300 runs when he was on the field with 299 runs against South Africa in 1932 but his fellow batsmen were run out.
He was named one of Wisden's 5 Player of the Year in 1931. In 1949 he was named "Sir" and in 1979 was awarded Australia's highest civilian honour, the Campaign of the Order of Australia.
Bradman was named one of Wisden's Players of the Century by experts in 2000. Bradman was the only player selected by all 100 members of the group of experts. Other players on the list included Garfield Sobers (90 votes), Jack Hobbs (30 votes), Shane Warren (27 votes) and Vivian Richards (25 votes).
In 2002, Wisden named Bradman the greatest batsman in Test cricket history. Tendulkar, Gary Sobers and Vivian Richards were second, third and fourth respectively in the list. Bradman's 270 in the third Test against England in Melbourne was hailed as the greatest Test by weight.
