Muhammad Asif Star Fast bowler Pakistan National Cricket team bio, Mohammad Asif (born 20 December 1962) is a Pakistani cricketer who used to play for the Pakistani national cricket team.

Asif was born in Sheikhupura to a Zamindar Gurjar family and has played first-class cricket for Khan Research Labs, National Bank, Quetta, Sheikhupura, Sialkot and Leicestershire. He made his Test cricket debut for the Pakistan cricket team against Australia in January 2005. In 2010, Asif was the second leading Test bowler after Dale Steyn.

International Career:

Muhammad Asif debuted in the national team in Jan 2005 against Australia. He was one of the good bowlers in the team. His inswinging yorkers were popular. He played only 22 tests, 38 ODIs and 11 t20is. he picked up 105 wickets in tests. He becomes 7 times fivers in just 22 matches. He declared one of the best bowlers in the world. Muhammad Asif career has preyed to many restrictions.

Anabolic Steroids:

He was later ruled out of Pakistan's Pakistan Cricket World Cup without any injuries. 

The controversy over Asif then escalated when he came into the limelight in Dubai and was tested positive for a banned substance during the Indian Premier League. 

2010 Spot Fixing Case:

He was found betting in August 2010 when he intentionally threw a no-ball for money.
Subsequently, on 5 February 2011, a 3-person tribunal appointed by the International Cricket Council (ICCS) ruled that they would be banned for 6 years, with a suspension of 2 years if no further offence was committed.

On 19 August 2015, the ICC postponed its previous orders allowing Asif to play in all formats of the game. He played his first match after the ban for the Water and Power Development Authority in the third round of the 2016-17 Qaid-e-Azam Trophy.
