T20 World Cup | Oman beat Papua New Guinea by 10 wickets | Qualifying Round

T20 World Cup | The qualifying round of the T20 World Cup has started with Oman defeating Papua New Guinea by 10 wickets in the first match. 

In the first match of the T20 World Cup qualifying round, Oman won the toss and elected to field against Papua New Guinea. 

In the first round match of the World Cup being played at the Emirates Cricket Ground in Oman, both the openers of Papua New Guinea returned to the pavilion without opening an account and the visiting team had lost both the wickets at zero.

T20 World Cup | At this stage, Charles Amini came to the aid of captain Asadwala and the two formed a brilliant partnership of 81 runs for the third wicket. The partnership ended when Charles was run out for 37 and returned to the pavilion.

The Papua New Guinea captain completed his half-century as well as the team's century. He became Kaleemullah's second wicket after scoring 56 off 102 balls, including four fours and three sixes in his innings.

Due to Zeeshan's excellent bowling, Papua New Guinea kept losing wickets from time to time and scored 129 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. 

T20 World Cup | In the last 6 overs, Papua New Guinea lost 6 wickets for just 27 runs. For Oman, Zeeshan Ashraf took 4 wickets for 20 runs while Bilal Khan and Kaleemullah took 2 wickets each.
